Newcastle is a wonderful place, and the Geordies love to see you there. There are plenty of excellent road signs directing you into Newcastle, Gateshead and the Metro Centre, where I had to get to for an investment workshop yesterday. However, they are evidently very reluctant to let you out, judging by the paucity of signs pointing you in the direction of exit routes. Even the signs that are there are almost illegible. I spent half an hour trying to find my way out, only to end up back where I started - next door to Ikea - and then entirely missed the signs to the A19, ending up in Durham instead of Seaham.
But it was an excellent workshop - well done to Invesco and there will be plenty of comment about global investment markets in forthcoming newsletters.
